Founded in 2008 by Chris Scharrer, DCS Technology Design is focused on developing methodologies that produce accurate Broadband mapping for rural areas. Our systems provide validated data for all served, and unserved homes and businesses in a given geographic area.

Working alongside several Michigan municipalities, DCS Technology Design is driven to guide and pilot communities on the path of inclusivity and access to tools that technology can bring.

While Michigan based and Rural Broadband focused; DCS Technology Design has led the charge on many substantial technology projects such as the "Command and General Staff College", Fort Leavenworth, and the "Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command Center of Excellence", Oahu.

All with the common theme of making certain that essential technology is available and affordable for all.

A globally recognized leader in the design and installation of telecommunications and data/video technologies, Chris has over 40 years of experience leading major technology efforts for the U.S. military and intelligence, K12 and higher education, automotive and manufacturing, and other global industries.

Chris has been a contributing author, subject matter expert and committee chairperson on several trade publications which are focused on industry training, accreditation and standards in building technology, wireless systems, and outside plant construction industries. He has also sat on industry boards and served as a lead subject matter expert on the editorial review board for ICT Today, an industry leading Technology Journal for BICSI.

Recently, Chris was named 2022 Sylvan Township's Citizen of the Year.   “Over the past few years, Chris has been highly involved with the Broadband Task Force. He has spent hours of his personal time devoted to the betterment of rural Townships like Sylvan, where his home is. Through his efforts, all the residents of Sylvan, and the entire County, will benefit by being able to access internet speeds our modern life demands, and we have been lacking. Few people have given so much so that others may benefit, and Chris should be commended for his work.”

Chris has made his passion for helping others his profession, through the practical use and efficient design of technology.
